“The Spectrum Summit”, is a filmed discussion series exploring contemporary issues impacting the social, cultural and mental health of Black People.
The Summit was held at Eastside Arts Alliance, in solidarity with the 50th Anniversary of the Black Panther Party. The conference includes a series of panel discussions, communal dialogue and workshops delving into transformative self care practices. Our objective is to film compelling conversations of black creatives exploring impactful solutions for the black experience. Bringing together solutions, services and tools to strengthen our community while overcoming systemic oppression.
Twerk 4 Mother Earth
is an annual FREE festival that connects Black indie artists to Oakland's inner city. The curatorial vision of the festival is to build community among local food vendors, healers, and artists that promote the empowerment of Oakland residents and consent-based/anti-rape culture.
"Rites of Passage" at Somarts
For the Black Woman is God : Reprogramming the God Code Exhibition we created a multimedia environment using pieces from our 'Rites of Passage' : Series. This installation was a collaboration featuring the works of 13 artist.
"When I Became"
an interactive installation at Wine & Bowties "FEELSV", was a platform for our experiences to be acknowledged in a public space. Using text, mirrors, and performance, "When I Became" challenged people to reflect on the stereotypes : femme, stud, earthy, slut, liberated, militant, sensual, magic.
"Releasing Vanity" performance
at Wine & Bowties FEELS5, featured 2 sharers in a transient state of dressing & under dressing, adding & removing bondage, dancing & navigating through bombarding paparazzi. This performance reflected upon the ritual of being "made up", the contemporary obsessions with documentation, and how we view ourselves.
an interactive installation & performance piece for Not Ur Baby 2 , allowed viewers to publicly set their full moon intentions with luscious red lipstick on beautiful decorated alters and vanities. The performance included a ritual of three sharers shaving their hair; a practice of cleansing societal exceptions and reclaiming ones own beauty.
